Mia Love calls for full repeal of Obamacare, but the whole Utah delegation voted for Speaker John Boehner
I was frustrated yesterday when the whole Utah delegation voted to keep Mr. Speaker John Boehner in power.
Love, in a email to the Washington Examiner, provided some insight into why she chose to keep Boehner as GOP leader.
“There were no qualified or notable campaigns for speaker within the Republican Party other than John Boehner,” Love said. “Casting a vote for a candidate who has not actively campaigned and does not have the support to be speaker is an indirect vote for Nancy Pelosi, and I will not vote for Nancy Pelosi.”
Love also reminded voters that she is playing the long game when it comes to fighting for conservative principles.
“There will be a time and a place for me to stand as a lone voice of dissension, but the vote for the speaker, is not that place,” Love said. “For me to be an effective congressman over the next two years it is important for me to be on the side of the elected speaker.”
Matt Kibbe thanked his crowd with this You Tube Video yesterday:
Glenn Beck on Tuesday tore into Congressman Chris Stewart (R-Utah) over his decision to vote for John Boehner as speaker of the House, saying he believes Stewart — who has been his friend for years — is losing his soul.
As for me? Well, who gives a rip what I think…
but since you are here on my blog reading, I figure you want to know what I think, so I guess I will chime in.
One of my pals on Facebook posted this meme about the vote:
This is the dealio…when the republican establishment voted to make it impossible for any sort of grass roots state efforts to happen at the convention in 2012, I knew that the political overlords had completely shut we the people out of the process and pretty much any more political activism was a waste of my precious time. My dear friend Nancy, who had been a Colorado Tea Party Ron Paul Delegate, wrote in real time on Facebook what happened at the convention in Florida and this post by Michelle Malkin sums things up nicely.
After this power grab by the GOP I decided to leave the party and join the Libertarians here in Utah.
My own political stance is one of complete and utter cynicism around all local, state, and national politics. This is often the result for those of us who pound the pavement and attempt to create change and I am happy to finally let my militant Tea Party stance relax and just sit by watching the whole mess play out. Did I call my rep Chris Stewart to beg him to vote for Louie Gohmert as speaker yesterday?
While I am thrilled with the winds of change that are blowing in our nation, I understand that this is going to be a long term effort to restore the republic.
As a Health Freedom Blogger all I really care about is having the liberty to choose what sort of health care I want without anyone forcing me to purchase their dope. I also expect that none of the minor children in my care be forced by law to accept medical treatment. Increasingly we are witnessing children who are compelled to have a variety of medical interventions, even when they do not want them. The most recent cancer case of the teenage girl in Connecticut is a vivid reminder of how the government feels about so called “medical neglect”.
“A 17-year-old girl with cancer is in an unprecedented legal battle with the state of Connecticut as the Department of Children and Families removed her from her home and forced the teen to receive chemotherapy.
The girl being identified as “Cassandra C.” in court papers was diagnosed with cancer in September, with doctors recommending she receive chemotherapy for the rare condition of Hodgkins Lymphoma. However, the teen refused treatment and her mother supported her daughter’s decision, causing Connecticut’s Department of Children and Families to step in and force the teen to receive treatment, WTIC-TV reports.
In November, the DCF successfully petitioned for an order of temporary custody of the girl and ordered her mother to cooperate with medical care administered to her daughter under DCF supervision. After two chemo treatments, Cassandra ran away from home before subsequently returning to refuse treatment altogether.
“Following a hearing at which Cassandra’s doctors testified, the trial court ordered that she be removed from her home and that she remain in DCF’s care and custody,” read court documents. “The court also authorized DCF to make all necessary medical decisions on Cassandra’s behalf.”
I truly see Obamacare being the vehicle for these sorts of abuses of power being entrenched in our society. And I do not want my children and future grandchildren to be forced to have medical care. Because we all know that the republican party and most of the democrat party is run by Big Pharma, no one should be surprised when a crony capitalist like John Boehner is entrenched as speaker to make certain the taxpayer dollars upholding Obamacare continue to be yanked from the treasury.
If parents do not have the freedom to call the shots with their own children as resident experts, then we are already slaves to whomever writes the societal rules around health care policy.
I wish Mia well in her intentions to defund and replace Obamacare. I personally believe the only way to fix our system is to pull all government monies out of the health care game and let the system settle down to a market based, consumer led, demand and supply form of delivery for products and services.
My own efforts at home to keep our family medically self reliant is the place I choose to put my own energies as an activist.
But I do wish Mia Love well as she duels with the movers and shakers in our sick, sick, decrepit crony capitalistic system.
