Here’s Hoping I get an invite! My health had left me feeling hopeless about ever acting again. But with a new and more powerful oxygen concentrator and a wheelchair for help when I am expected to stand, I believe I will be able to sing, act, and perform choreography without any fear of passing out. It was my great terror during the Fezziwig Party scene last year. My scoliosis is now bad enough that I am in constant fear of falling and I had a breathing emergency during dress rehearsal that convinced me the only answer was to come out openly to the cast and crew about my dependence on oxygen supplementation. Everyone was so kind. I should have expected nothing less. I let my fears dictate my choices up to that point. I kept my concentrator running backstage and whenever I came offstage, I sat down and hooked up. Fortunately I did not have any costume changes and was never on stage for more that five or ten minutes. I pray that the directors I audition for this year let my singing voice determine my eligibility for the cast. I am 100% confident about that. I was in Gilbert and Sullivans HMS Pinafore in the 5th grade and am very excited to be in Pirates of Penzance. The show is so fun!!! Here is the 2020 season lineup: https://www.bard.org/2020-season
